B-Ville, Opdivo and Thrills!
Hey Y'all! I just wanted to give a little life/health update :) I moved back up to Oklahoma to finish out my last semester of college two weeks ago. It has been so much fun to be back at school and feel like a college student again. My first day back in Bartlesville was great. It was really awesome to see all my friends and professors again. The first week was a little crazy as both me and my roommate contracted COVID. But, we were both super blessed and recovered quickly. Luckily, we only had mild symptoms so we were able to work through it quickly.
The following week was much calmer. We both felt a lot better and began to settle into a routine of things. This past weekend I was able to go watch my boyfriend play baseball with some friends which was really fun. Then, this past Monday my roommate, Abbey went with me to get my 5th Opdivo infusion! The infusion went smoothly. I am so grateful to finally have a treatment that my body seems to be tolerating. Thank you to everyone for the constant support and prayers that have brought me to where I am today. So far I am doing well, other than some fatigue. I am a little concerned about managing side effects with the rigor of school, but I am hoping that I will be able to juggle the two. But, I am still so grateful to be here and to be feeling so much better. I will have another infusion coming in a month and then the following month I will have scans. I am asking for prayers that I will remain healthy in Oklahoma and that my treatment continues to shrink the tumors throughout my body so that I will ultimately become NED (No Evidence of Disease).
Specific Prayer Requests:
That I continue to be able to manage side effects.
That I am able to juggle side effects and school.
That I remain healthy while away from home.
That the current treatment of Opdivo and targeted therapy kills every single cancer cell in my body.
That the targeted therapy pills continue work for me for a VERY long time.
That my next set of scans are NED.
That my family and I are filled with the peace and comfort of God.
