Infusion #2
Hey Y’all! First off, I would like to thank everyone that has reached out to me and kept me in their thoughts and prayers throughout this journey. Secondly, this past Tuesday I received my second infusion of Keytruda. Keytruda is an immunotherapy drug taken every 3 weeks as a part of my new treatment plan (immunotherapy + target therapy). I am extremely pleased to say that I am feeling great! I have had no serious side-effects from this treatment thus far, PRAISE GOD! I have had very high energy recently and have been able to begin exercising again. I am fully independent and have come such a long way since May! God has poured healing over me and remained faithful throughout this journey. Currently, I am trying to figure out what I will be doing about school next year. I have two options. The first it to try and return to Oklahoma Wesleyan in Bartlesville in-person this semester. This option would allow me to return to some normalcy while continuing my treatment by taking target therapy pills daily and receiving immunotherapy infusions in Tulsa every 3 weeks. The second option is to stay at home for the upcoming first semester and do school online, maintaining my current treatment plan. We ask for prayers in this upcoming decision on what to do for school next semester, and we also ask for continued prayers for my health as well as peace of mind for my family and myself.
Specific Prayer Requests:
That I will continue to experience no side effects.
That I will remain in high spirits and have high energy.
That this new treatment along with the oral drugs will kill all of the cancerous cells in my body.
That the BRAF gene will switch back to normal.
That my family and I make the right decision on what to do about school next semester.
That me and my family are surrounded by the peace of God during this time.
