Breaking Free!

Hey Y'all! I'm going home today!!! PRAISE GOD. I want to thank everyone for all of the recent prayers and support I have received! God is so faithful and has answered our prayers. After a few nights in the hospital due to a tooth infection and and extremely low white blood cell counts, I am going home! The doctors gave me a shot to try and boost my white blood cells. This shot usually takes about 3 days for the counts to go back to normal. My counts went back to normal in less than 24 hours! I can only attribute that to answered prayers! Additionally, my toothache is completely gone! So thankful!!!

Now that I am back to normal, the next question is what to do about my treatment. It is suspected that my white blood cells decreased after my immunotherapy treatment. That being said, my doctor's are trying to decide if the next step is to proceed with the upcoming scheduled immunotherapy and inject an immune boosting shot later, or to switch to a different immunotherapy and see if my counts stay up. I see the doctor again on August 10th to make this decision. We ask for prayers that our doctors find the right treatment that will allow my immune system to remain strong while attacking my cancer.

Furthermore, I have made the decision to do school remotely this semester. I will remain in Houston while studying at Oklahoma Wesleyan University online. After careful consideration, my family and I feel this is the best decision regarding recent events. Hopefully when things start to smooth out again, I can return back to OKWU in person for the spring semester. Thank you all for keeping up with me and for praying for my health and well being!

Specific Prayer Requests:

-That my white blood cell counts continue to remain normal.

-That the doctors will find an immunotherapy that my body will tolerate.

-That my treatment of (target therapy pills + immunotherapy) will kill every cancerous cell in my body.

-That the BRAF gene switches back to normal.

-That my heart function improves.

-That my family and I are surrounded by the peace of God during this time.
