Health Update 8/9/22

Hey Y’all! I Just wanted to hop on here and give everyone a little health/life update. Last Thursday, my boyfriend Marcus was able to accompany me for my monthly Opdivo immunotherapy infusion. Thankfully, the infusion went well. I am so grateful to say that I have been feeling good lately! PRAISE GOD! My meds do cause severe fatigue, but I have been handling that pretty well with a nice dose of occasional naps. I am so thankful to be feeling relatively normal and being able to function. I have been able to have a busy, fun filled summer! This summer, I went on vacation with my family and boyfriend to the beach in Corpus Christi. I also attended three weddings this summer with my awesome date, Marcus. I feel so blessed to have been able to see my friends get married and to have been a part of their special days. I am looking forward to the next few months as I will continue to work on obtaining my teacher’s license. Furthermore, I am excited to announce that I will be working for Fort Bend’s Extended day this fall. I am really excited for this opportunity and hope to gain some valuable experience working with kids before teaching.

As far as my health goes, as I mentioned earlier, I am so grateful to be feeling so much better physically. But I would be lying if I said that the mental side of cancer didn’t get to me sometimes. Especially with scans coming up at the beginning of next month. Scans bring a whole new set of anxiety on, so I just ask for prayers this month that I can continue feeling well both physically and mentally. Lastly, I just want to thank each one of you that has followed me throughout this journey and has supported me with thoughts and prayers. I truly cannot be more appreciative of your support.

Specific Prayer requests:

  • That my physical health continues to improve.

  • That the immunotherapy and targeted therapy kill all the cancer cells in my body.

  • That I become NED soon.

  • That my upcoming scans have positive results.

  • That God takes away all anxiety and stress from upcoming scans.

  • That my body continues to respond to the combination of targeted therapy and immunotherapy with little to no side effects.

  • That I am to continue to work on my teacher program and my job.

  • That my family and I are surrounded by the peace of God during this time.
