Hospital Visit
Hey Y'all! Just wanted to give everyone a little health update. Last night I ran a fever of 102°F. We were instructed that if I ran a fever above 100°F to go to the Emergency Room. My mom and I quickly packed some bags in case of an overnight stay and headed downtown to the medical center. The doctors ordered an x-ray along with a series of tests to check for infections. My blood work showed that my white blood cells and neutrophil cells were very low. This means that I am more susceptible to infections or other illnesses. So, the doctors began pumping me with antibiotics in case of infection and are requiring me to stay at the hospital to monitor me as we await for more test results. My left wisdom tooth began severely bothering me yesterday, so it is possible that due to my low white blood cells my tooth has become infected. This would explain the fever. I will be seeing a dental oncologist team tomorrow to determine if that is the issue. Furthermore, the doctor also told me that my fever, tooth irritation and low white blood cells could be from my recent infusion. Therefore, my next infusion will be postponed until I can get my blood count back to normal. While at the hospital my fever has returned to normal, and other than significant pain from my tooth, I feel good. We ask for prayers that the doctors will determine the cause for my pain and that my blood count will return to normal as soon as possible. We also ask for prayers that I can remain on the immunotherapy with normal blood count levels.
Specific Prayer Requests:
-That my white blood cells will return back to normal as soon as possible.
-That my toothache subsides and there is no infection.
- That I will be able to continue with my immunotherapy treatment.
-That the combination of target therapy drugs and the immunotherapy treatments will kill every cancerous cell in my body.
-That I will be able to remain on target therapy drugs.
-That the BRAF gene will return to normal.
-That a wise decision is made for how I will handle school this semester.
-That my family and I are surrounded by the peace of God.
In Jesus name all your prayers and everyone’s prayers will be answered!!! YOU ARE SO STRONG KEN!! <3
